Former Yazoo City correctional officer sentenced for sexual act with federal prisoner

A former correctional officer at the Federal Correctional Complex in Yazoo City, Mississippi, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for engaging in sexual acts with a federal prisoner. The sentencing was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon of the Southern District of Mississippi.

In January 2025, agents from the Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General discovered that Parker M. Triplett, age 25, had engaged in prohibited conduct with an inmate at the facility. Triplett was subsequently indicted by a federal grand jury on April 8, 2025.

Triplett pleaded guilty to the charges on June 25, 2025. Following his plea, he was taken into custody by the United States Marshal Service.

The case was investigated by the Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kabah S. Ealy.
