On June 26, 2025, a man from Hinds County, Mississippi, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to produce child pornography. The case involved minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Court documents revealed that Joe Lewis, aged 54, engaged in these activities starting in February 2023 and continued through December 2023. During this period, he attempted to persuade minors to engage in explicit conduct via FaceTime for his live viewing and recording.

The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon of the Southern District of Mississippi and Special Agent in Charge Robert Eikhoff of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The investigation was conducted by the Jackson Police Department and the FBI.

Lewis is set to be sentenced on October 23, 2025. He faces a maximum penalty of thirty years per count in prison. A federal district judge will determine his sentence after considering various guidelines and statutory factors.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Glenda R. Haynes.
